How we run email marketing

Email marketing services built around your customers

Canada Create™ provides email marketing services for businesses across Canada and the United States: strategy, email automation, newsletter management, design, deliverability, consent management and reporting, all run as one program by one accountable team. A permission-based email list gives you a direct customer relationship and reduces dependence on paid reach. Delivery still depends on subscriber choices, your sending provider and inbox filters. We build programs for repeat purchases, enquiries, bookings and useful customer communication.

We have worked in digital marketing since 2008, and we are a BBB Accredited business with an A+ rating. As an email marketing agency, our work covers planning, list growth, automated sequences, regular campaigns, responsive templates, deliverability monitoring and reporting. We implement consent records, suppression rules and other practical CASL compliance controls around your approved requirements. You approve content and automated sending rules before launch, with later changes handled through the agreed approval process.

What our email marketing agency does

An email platform and a contact list are a starting point. We review whether the gaps are in strategy, content, software, technical setup or ongoing management, then prioritize the work around your customer journey.

  • Strategy. Which jobs email should do for you, which audiences matter most and what a realistic calendar looks like.
  • List growth. Sign-up forms, offers and consent wording that bring in subscribers who want to hear from you.
  • Email automation. Welcome, follow-up, reminder, review, abandoned cart and win-back sequences that run every day.
  • Newsletter management. Planning, writing, design, approval, sending and reporting for your regular campaigns.
  • Design. Branded, mobile-first templates with reusable sections and editing guidance.
  • Deliverability. Authentication, sending domains, list hygiene and monitoring to support inbox delivery.
  • Consent and compliance. Technical and operational support for CASL compliant email marketing, with consent evidence and unsubscribe processing.
  • Integrations and reporting. Email connected to your website, store, booking system and CRM, with results measured in clicks, bookings and revenue.

Start with the purpose of each email

Email can do several jobs, and each needs a different approach. For service businesses, useful jobs include following up on eligible enquiries until they book, decline or reach the agreed stopping point, reminding customers when a service is due, asking for reviews and referrals, and bringing back customers who have not bought in a while. For online stores, the priorities are welcome series, abandoned cart and browse reminders, post-purchase messages and campaigns around launches and seasonal sales. For professional and B2B firms, email builds trust over longer decision cycles with useful insight, event invitations and timely check-ins.

We begin by agreeing which jobs matter most for your business, what each should achieve and how we will measure it. A clinic might care most about recall and rebooking. A trades company might care most about quote follow-up and seasonal maintenance reminders. An online store might care most about first purchases and repeat orders. The program is then built around those priorities, starting with the strongest combination of customer value, effort and expected return.

Is email marketing still worth it in 2026?

Email can be valuable for repeat purchases, long sales cycles and customer service. Assess the reachable audience, expected contribution from additional sales, platform and production costs, and the capacity to maintain useful content. Email is not priced like a typical advertising auction, but sending, contacts, integrations and messaging usage can all affect cost.

Inbox providers expect authenticated mail, low complaint rates and easy unsubscribing. Subscribers need a clear reason to receive each message. Privacy features make opens an imperfect signal, so we look at replies, validated clicks and business outcomes alongside delivery diagnostics.

Email is most valuable when you have a list of past customers or enquiries, when customers buy or book more than once, when decisions take time, or when you want to rely less on paid advertising. If you are starting with no list at all, the first step is building one through your website, bookings and purchases, with list-building and campaign costs agreed before work begins.

CASL compliant email marketing

CASL generally governs commercial electronic messages sent or accessed using a computer system in Canada, including commercial email and SMS. Consent, sender identification and unsubscribe requirements apply, with specific exceptions and exemptions. For example, the business-to-business exemption depends on an actual relationship between the organizations and a message about the recipient organization’s activities; a business address alone is not enough. We implement the approved technical workflow. Your legal adviser determines the requirements for your situation; this service is not legal advice or a regulatory compliance review.

Express consent

Express consent is when a person actively agrees to receive your messages, for example by ticking an unticked box or typing their email address into a clearly worded sign-up form. The request needs to explain why you are asking, identify who is asking and say that the person can withdraw consent at any time. Express consent does not expire on its own, which is why it is the goal for every subscriber on your list. Pre-ticked boxes and consent hidden inside terms and conditions are not good enough.

Implied consent

Implied consent may arise from a qualifying relationship or conspicuous publication of a business address. For publication-based consent, the person must have published or caused publication of the address, without an accompanying refusal of unsolicited messages, and the message must be relevant to their business role. Common relationship periods are two years after a qualifying transaction and six months after a qualifying enquiry. We record the basis, source and relevant dates. A request for express consent is itself a commercial message, so it needs an existing valid basis when sent. We stop promotional sending when that basis expires or consent is withdrawn.

Identification and unsubscribe

For messages subject to these CASL requirements, identify the sender and any person on whose behalf the message is sent, and provide the required mailing address and contact method. The unsubscribe route must remain usable for at least 60 days and requests must take effect within 10 business days, with faster processing where the provider requires it. We configure and test preferences and suppression across the connected systems, respecting a request to stop all promotional messages.

How we implement the controls

  • Sign-up forms use unticked consent boxes and plain wording.
  • Consent is recorded with the date, source and wording shown, so you can show how each person joined.
  • Consent expiry and withdrawals trigger suppression; any request to renew consent needs a valid sending basis.
  • Suppression rules are tested across connected lists and platforms, with failed synchronizations flagged.
  • Outbound prospecting and third-party lists require documented sourcing, a valid sending basis, appropriate privacy permissions and a platform that permits the use. A purchased address or a public listing does not by itself establish permission to send.

For Quebec and other markets, we map the approved privacy requirements into forms, data flows and retention settings. Canadian and U.S. sending rules differ: CAN-SPAM generally regulates commercial email through sender, content and opt-out requirements, while CASL may still apply to messages sent from Canada. SMS needs its own jurisdiction and provider review.

Email automation that works around the clock

Automation sends approved messages when defined events occur, reducing repetitive follow-up work. We build triggers, eligibility checks, stopping conditions, frequency limits and exception handling, then monitor them after launch. Custom integrations and AI-assisted workflows can be scoped where standard platform tools do not fit.

Welcome series

A welcome series follows up while the sign-up is recent. A short welcome series introduces your business, explains what makes it different, shares your most useful content or products and invites a first purchase or booking. It also sets expectations about what you will send and how often.

Enquiry and quote follow-up

An enquiry or quote sequence can answer common questions, show relevant work and invite a booking. The workflow respects the original enquiry, consent basis and agreed follow-up limits, and stops or changes when someone books, replies, declines or unsubscribes. We measure whether it improves qualified bookings rather than assuming a return.

Abandoned cart and browse reminders

For online stores, reminders can invite eligible shoppers back to products they considered. An abandoned cart is not a completed purchase and does not automatically create CASL consent; browser activity alone is not permission to email. We check the sending basis and suppression rules before enabling these flows. If you are building or rebuilding a store, our ecommerce team connects these triggers from the start.

Post-purchase and service reminders

After a purchase or appointment, messages can share care instructions, ask for a review, suggest related products or services and remind customers when it is time to rebook, restock or renew. These messages feel like good service because they arrive when they are useful.

Win-back

Customers who have not bought in a while can be invited back with a friendly message, news about what has changed or a reason to return. Those who still do not respond are eventually removed from regular sends to protect deliverability.

Timing and frequency

Each automation is timed around how your customers actually behave. A quote follow-up might wait a couple of days, a service reminder might arrive a few weeks before the service is due, and a win-back might begin after several months of silence. We also cap how many messages any one person can receive in a week, so someone who triggers several automations at once is not overwhelmed. Timings are reviewed after launch against real replies and bookings and adjusted where the results suggest a better rhythm.

What is the 3 email rule?

The phrase has no single official definition. It is sometimes used for a three-message sequence, but three is not a proven optimum for every audience. A sequence may need one message, several carefully timed messages or no further follow-up, depending on the request, permissions and customer response.

For an eligible quote follow-up, a sequence might acknowledge the request, answer a common question and offer a final check-in. Replies, bookings and opt-outs change or stop the sequence.

Newsletter management people want to read

Regular campaigns keep your business in mind between purchases. The newsletters that work share something useful every time: advice, news, new products or services, seasonal reminders, customer stories told with permission, events and genuine offers. Our newsletter management covers the whole cycle. We plan a calendar around your business and your customers’ year, write subject lines and content in your voice, design each issue, send it to you for approval, schedule it, and report on what it produced.

Each email stays focused on one main message with a clear next step. How often to send depends on your audience and how much you have to say. Sending less often with better content usually beats sending more often with filler, and we will tell you honestly when a planned send is not worth it. Where you need regular articles, guides or product copy for your newsletter to point to, our content writing services give email something worth sharing.

Writing emails that sound like you

People open emails from businesses they know and trust, and they keep opening them when the content is worth their time. We write in plain Canadian English, with subject lines that say what is inside rather than tricking people into opening. Each email is short enough to read on a phone and ends with one clear action. Before we write the first campaign, we agree on your tone, the words you use and avoid, and the kinds of offers that fit your brand.

Email design tested across relevant inboxes

Emails are read on phones, tablets and laptops, in dozens of email apps that display them differently. We design and test templates across the agreed email apps and devices: single-column layouts that work on small screens, readable text, clear buttons, compressed images with alternative text, and a design that still makes sense when images are blocked. Templates match your brand, with reusable sections and guidance to help your team maintain the layout.

Accessibility matters too. Good contrast, meaningful link text, real text rather than text inside images and a logical reading order make your emails easier to use for everyone, including people who use screen readers. The test scope records the clients, devices and accessibility requirements covered.

Transactional emails

Order confirmations, booking notices, shipping updates, password resets and receipts should give customers the information they need. We can redesign these messages to match your brand while keeping their operational purpose clear. Adding a promotion can change the legal treatment; keeping it short does not automatically preserve a transactional exemption. We review the message category separately from promotional subscriptions and apply the approved sending rules.

Deliverability: reaching the inbox

Delivery depends on authentication, reputation, recipient behaviour and provider filtering. We configure SPF, DKIM and DMARC, check domain alignment and review the sending service. Gmail requires SPF or DKIM for all senders to personal Gmail accounts; senders at its bulk threshold need both plus DMARC and one-click unsubscribe for marketing and subscription traffic. We monitor current provider requirements rather than treating authentication as an inbox guarantee.

We review sending patterns, complaints, hard bounces and suppression, and investigate unusual changes. Open data alone does not establish inactivity, and security scanners can affect click counts. Any re-engagement or sunset policy uses the available signals and the contact’s current permissions.

Segmentation and personalization

Segments help when different customers need different messages. We segment your list by what you know about each person: the services or products they have bought, when they last bought, where they live, how they signed up and how they engage with email. Messages are then written for each group, and personal details are used naturally rather than as gimmicks. A customer who had a furnace installed last year should receive a maintenance reminder, not a promotion for the product they already own.

Preference centres

A preference centre can let subscribers choose topics and frequency alongside a clear option to unsubscribe from all promotional messages. It must not obstruct a required one-click unsubscribe or require a login to stop marketing. Preferences and complete opt-outs are tested as separate paths.

Growing your list the right way

A healthy email program depends on a steady flow of new subscribers who genuinely want to hear from you. We build sign-up points into your website where they make sense: a clear newsletter offer, a useful guide or checklist with a clearly separate choice about ongoing marketing, a first-order offer for online stores, an option to subscribe when someone books or buys, and sign-up at events and in person with consent recorded. Each source is tracked so you can see which ones bring subscribers who reply, make validated clicks and buy. Pop-ups are used sparingly and timed so they do not interrupt visitors the moment they arrive.

Visitors who find you through SEO or Google Ads and are not ready to buy yet are some of the best people to invite onto your list. Email then keeps the conversation going until they are ready, so the money and effort spent on bringing them to your site keeps working.

Connecting email to your customer data

Email works best when it knows what customers have done. We connect your email platform to your website forms, online store, booking system and CRM, so purchases, appointments and enquiries update each person’s record automatically and trigger the right messages. For many clients this runs through CS+, Canada Create™’s own CRM, which brings contacts, email, text messaging and automation into one place. We also work with the platforms you already use and can build custom connections where available APIs, permissions and your workflow support them. If your customer records are scattered or you are moving to a new system, our CRM setup service gets the data clean and connected first.

We map how booking, purchase, reply and unsubscribe events move between systems, including identifiers, sync intervals, failures and duplicate handling. Suppression and stopping rules are tested before launch and monitored afterwards; a connection is not a promise that every system updates instantly.

Text messaging alongside email

Email and SMS can work together for reminders, offers and confirmations. The rules depend on each message’s purpose and destination: a purely operational reminder is not automatically treated like a promotion. We scope consent, sender identification, opt-out, carrier requirements and quiet-hour settings for the actual use, with customer preferences applied across channels.

What is the best email marketing service?

There is no single best platform for every business. The right choice depends on your list size, how much automation you need, what your store, website or booking system connects to, whether you want email and text in one place, how your team likes to work and how the provider charges as your list grows. A simple newsletter tool may suit a small list with occasional campaigns. A business that needs detailed automation, segmentation and sales data will need something more capable.

We recommend a platform after reviewing your setup and explain migration options for contacts, consent evidence, suppression, templates and automations. You retain control of your business accounts and authorized records. Export formats, platform licences, custom deliverables and handover are defined in the Agreement and Terms of Service, including payment and third-party rights.

Can I do email marketing for free?

Many email platforms offer a free plan, usually with limits on the number of contacts, the number of sends, the features available and the branding shown in your emails. A free plan can be a reasonable way to start a small list and learn what your customers respond to. As the list grows, or once you need automation, segmentation, integrations and better support, a paid plan may be needed. Include the time and service costs for planning, writing, designing, setting up and maintaining the program properly.

Measuring what email produces

Open rates have become less reliable since email apps started loading images automatically for privacy, so we focus on measures that matter more: clicks, replies, bookings, purchases and revenue attributed to each email and automation, alongside unsubscribe and complaint rates. Each month you receive a plain report showing what was sent, what it produced and what we will test next. Automations are reported separately, because they often do most of their work quietly in the background.

We compare attributed bookings and sales with CRM or store records, stating the attribution model, window and any missing matches. An attributed sale is not proof that email caused an additional sale. Where the audience supports it, holdout tests can estimate incremental results. Return calculations use contribution after relevant costs, including platform, creative and management fees, rather than counting all attributed revenue as profit.

Testing and improvement

Tests start with a clear hypothesis, primary measure and sufficient audience size. We can compare subject lines, timing, offers, layouts and calls to action. Small lists or sparse outcomes may not produce a conclusive winner; qualitative feedback and operational improvements remain useful. We report uncertainty rather than promising that each test improves results.

Reviews, referrals, events and launches

A well-timed email is one of the easiest ways to collect reviews. Sent shortly after a purchase, appointment or completed job, with a direct link to your Google review form and a short, friendly message, it makes it easier for customers to leave an honest review where the profile permits reviews. We never offer incentives for reviews or ask only happy customers, both of which break Google’s policies. The same moment is a good time to invite referrals, with a simple way for customers to introduce a friend. For regulated professions, the client’s responsible professional approves the request and any use of testimonials. A referral does not automatically subscribe the referred person to marketing.

Openings, launches, open houses, webinars, workshops and seasonal events all benefit from a planned sequence: an announcement, a reminder, a last call and a follow-up afterwards. Registration pages connect to the email platform so attendees receive confirmations and reminders automatically, and the follow-up changes depending on whether people attended. Events also grow the list, because every registrant who consents becomes a subscriber.

Email marketing for different kinds of business

Clinics and health practices

Appointment reminders, recall workflows, health tips and service updates can be scoped with minimum necessary information, appropriate permissions and the practice’s professional review. Sender names, subject lines and notifications can reveal a relationship, so sensitive details may need a secure channel instead of ordinary email.

Home services and trades

Seasonal maintenance reminders, quote follow-up, review requests after jobs and offers timed to the weather, with segments by service and service area.

Retail and ecommerce

Welcome series, abandoned cart and browse reminders, product launches, restock alerts, loyalty programs and seasonal campaigns, measured by revenue per email and repeat purchase.

Professional and B2B firms

Newsletters with useful insight, event invitations, case studies told with client permission and nurture sequences for prospects in long decision cycles, measured by meetings booked and opportunities created.

Common email marketing mistakes

Common gaps include sending without a documented basis, missing suppression, unsuitable templates, authentication errors, reports that stop at opens and no connection to business outcomes. We assess which issues actually affect your program before recommending fixes; no single change guarantees delivery or sales.

Planning the first 90 days

We start with a free review of your list, consent evidence, platform, templates, deliverability and past results. A phased proposal prioritizes foundation work, the first useful automation and a sustainable campaign calendar. Timing depends on access, data quality, integrations, client approvals and the agreed scope. At each review we report what is working, what remains uncertain and what to do next.

Privacy, data and ownership

We use role-appropriate access, strong authentication and a retention plan for contact data, consent evidence and suppression records. Customer information is used only for approved purposes and with appropriate permissions. AI may assist research, drafting, design, analysis and custom workflow development, with human review, editorial judgement and applied expertise. Confidential inputs require approved tools and controls; you approve final content and sending rules before use.

Your existing business records remain yours, subject to privacy duties and the rights of the people concerned. After full and final payment, you own the finalized custom templates and automations created for you, excluding our pre-existing tools and third-party materials. Their licences, required credits and handover follow the Agreement and Terms of Service. The proposal identifies account access, exportable data, documentation and any paid migration assistance.

How much do email marketing services cost?

There is no honest single figure for the average cost of email marketing services, because programs vary so widely. At Canada Create™, email work is quoted in writing after a free review, and you will know exactly what is included before anything starts. The main cost drivers are:

  • Setup. Authentication, templates, list cleaning, consent-record and suppression setup, and the first automations. This is one-time work, priced separately.
  • Automations. How many sequences are built and how complex their triggers and branches are.
  • Campaign frequency. How often newsletters and promotions are sent, and how much writing and design each one needs.
  • Integrations. Connections to your store, booking system, website forms and CRM.
  • Text messaging. Whether SMS is part of the program.

The proposal separates implementation and management fees from platform, email and SMS usage charges. Where CS+ is used, the written scope states the included features and allowances and any additional charges.

How much does it cost to send a thousand emails?

The sending cost depends on whether the provider charges by contacts, sends, usage, features or a combination. Platform charges can be substantial at scale, and the overall program also includes strategy, writing, design, automation and upkeep. We show the applicable cost components in the scoped proposal.

If you also need search work, SEO engagements are custom-scoped, with a proposal after discovery.

Working with Canada Create has meant so much to me and my business, ProDerma Clinic. When you put your heart into caring for your clients, you want your website and online presence to reflect that same care. I’m so happy with the work Amir and his team have done to help me present my clinic and services with confidence.

They created a beautiful, professional website that brings together my treatments and makes it easy for visitors to learn about the clinic, explore their options, and book a consultation. Having a website I feel proud to share is a wonderful feeling. It gives people an introduction to ProDerma before they even walk through the door.

Their work has also included Google Business Profile optimization, helping me strengthen how my clinic appears on Google Search and Maps. For a local clinic in downtown Toronto, making it easier for people to find accurate information about my services, location, and booking options is incredibly valuable.

What stays with me most is the care and effort behind the work. I’m grateful to Amir and the Canada Create team for helping me build an online presence that reflects the business I’m working so hard to grow.

I would happily recommend Canada Create to other clinic owners and business owners looking for website design, Google Business Profile optimization, and thoughtful marketing guidance. Thank you for supporting ProDerma Clinic and for putting so much heart into your work!

I can't say enough good things about my experience with Canada Create, and especially Amir Vincent, one of the owners. His personal involvement made all the difference.

As the owner of a boutique medical aesthetics practice, my business is very personal to me. I wanted a website that showed not just my services, but the philosophy, warmth and individualized care behind my practice. I had a very particular vision, and Canada Create brought it to life more beautifully than I imagined.

From day one, Amir was professional, enthusiastic and detail-oriented, and he took a real interest in understanding my business. He and his team treated the project as a partnership. They took the time to learn what makes my practice unique and how to communicate that to new clients.

The website is beautiful. It's elegant, welcoming and thoughtfully designed, from the overall look and photography to how the information is laid out. It feels authentic to my brand and makes exactly the impression I was hoping for.

They also arranged a professional photoshoot for my practice, which was a highlight. The photos add a personal touch that captures the personality of my business. That matters so much in an industry built on trust and connection.

I've been just as impressed by their technical knowledge. Canada Create manages my website analytics and helps me understand how the site is performing and how to grow my online presence over time. That ongoing support is invaluable. They understand a website has to do more than look good. It has to help build the business.

Their communication, patience and willingness to listen have been wonderful. They took my ideas seriously while bringing their own expertise and creative suggestions. I always felt valued as a person, not just another client. I've spent years building a practice that reflects my values, so I really appreciate people who take pride in their work, and I see that in Amir and his team.

I'm so proud of what we've created together and look forward to continuing to work with Canada Create as my practice grows. If you're considering a new website, a brand refresh or a stronger online presence, I recommend them wholeheartedly.

Amir, thank you for your guidance, dedication and care. And thank you to the whole Canada Create team for turning my vision into something so beautiful. A five-star experience!

Working with Canada Create and Amir Vincent has been an absolute game-changer. I came to them looking for help with social media strategy and creative edits, and they didn’t just deliver, they elevated everything. From the first call, Amir’s clarity, professionalism, and creative eye stood out. You can tell this team genuinely cares about brand quality and impact, not just ticking boxes.

They took my ideas, refined them with precision, and turned them into polished, scroll-stopping content that actually converts. Every edit felt intentional, every post had strategy behind it, and the communication was seamless. No ego, no fluff just pure execution and results.

What impressed me most was Amir’s leadership. He’s not just a CEO, he’s a creative visionary who pushes for excellence in every detail. He listens, adapts, and brings real insight to the table. It’s rare to find a partner who can merge design aesthetics, marketing psychology, and performance thinking like that.

If you’re serious about growing your brand, sharpening your content game, or leveling up your digital presence Canada Create is the team you want in your corner. Amir and his crew don’t play small; they build brands that command attention.

Email marketing services: common questions

What is the average cost of email marketing services?

There is no honest single figure. Canada Create™ quotes email work in writing after a free review, based on setup needs, the number of automations, campaign frequency, integrations and whether text messaging is included. Platform fees are separate.

How much does it cost to send a large number of emails?

Sending charges depend on contacts, email volume, usage and feature tiers. Strategy, production, management and integrations are separate cost drivers, so we show the full scoped cost rather than assuming the platform is always the smaller part.

Is email marketing still worth it?

It can be valuable for repeat purchases, considered decisions and customer service. We assess the reachable audience, contribution from additional sales, delivery performance and total program costs rather than assuming every list will be profitable.

What is the best email marketing service?

There is no single best platform. The right one depends on list size, automation needs, integrations with your store or bookings, and how your team works. We recommend one after a review.

Can I do email marketing for free?

Some platforms offer free plans with limits on contacts, sends or features. We check the current plan against your workflow, integrations and expected volume, including the time required to run it.

What is the 3 email rule?

There is no official three-email rule or universal optimum. We choose sequence length from the customer’s request, permissions and response, with stopping rules and testing where the audience is large enough.

What does CASL compliant email marketing involve?

We implement consent records, sender details, suppression and unsubscribe workflows around approved requirements. CASL has specific exceptions and exemptions; legal interpretation and regulatory review remain with your adviser. U.S. email and SMS requirements are assessed separately.

Why do my emails go to spam?

Possible causes include authentication or alignment errors, sender reputation, complaints, list quality, sending patterns and recipient filtering. We investigate the evidence and monitor improvements; no provider can guarantee every message reaches the inbox.

Do you offer email automation and newsletter management together?

Yes. Most programs combine automated sequences with a regular newsletter calendar, written and designed for your approval.

How are scope and fees agreed?

Scope and fees are confirmed in writing before work starts.
